CASTING ORBITS…

BuddhabrotA ghostly re-imagining of the Mandelbrot set. Instead of asking “does this point stay bounded?” we take the points that fly away and trace the full path each one takes on its way out, letting the trajectories pile up. The result is this smoky, oddly three-dimensional figure that the plain black-and-white Mandelbrot never shows. The journey: four million random points are iterated under z → z²+c on the CPU; escaping orbits are replayed and every cell they cross is counted. Three separate counts with escape limits of 400 / 4000 / 20000 become the red, green and blue channels.
