The GyroidA surface that curves away from you equally in both directions at every single point, so it never bulges and never dimples — a “minimal surface”, the shape a soap film would take. The gyroid divides space into two identical interlocking labyrinths that never touch. Nature builds it in butterfly wing-scales and inside cell membranes; engineers 3D-print it for strong, light lattices. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom. The journey: the whole infinite surface is captured by one short equation, sin x cos y + sin y cos z + sin z cos x = 0; the shader thickens it slightly and sphere-traces the result.
